Overview
This incredible small wedding took place at Crystal Mountain Resort on a cloudy summer day in July. The couple was surrounded by their closest friends and family, creating a very intentional and intimate setting. Guests got to experience the gondola ride up to the Mt. Rainier platform at 6,872 feet to witness a beautiful ceremony. The mountain didn’t quite make an appearance, but the views were stunning regardless. I had the honor of second shooting this wedding for Bethany Kidd Photography.
Getting Ready
Monicah & Jamie got ready at the Silver Skis Chalet condominiums, right at the base of Crystal Mountain. The condos made for the perfect getting ready location. They each had their own condo to get ready in, making it easy for the bride to stay hidden from the groom until it was time for their first look. They were also able to have some of their closest friends and family members with them while preparing for the day, which made for many special moments.
First Look
As we led Jamie out to the location of the first look, the anticipation of seeing Monicah for the first time that day was building. The first look location was a grassy spot just around the corner from the Silver Skis Chalet, with a sweeping view of the gondola and mountainside. We all knew Monicah looked absolutely stunning and couldn’t wait for Jamie to see her! After a sweet first look, we moved on to taking some couples portraits around the base of the mountain.
Ceremony
The absolute best part of any wedding day – the ceremony! The 12 minute gondola ride to the top was nothing short of magical. After stepping off of the gondola, we were immediately met with some of the most epic views Washington has to offer. The ceremony platform was just a short walk down a staircase where the guests were starting to gather. Live music and spirited conversation filled the air. As the ceremony time approached, guests took their seats and settled down. Monicah and Jamie were surrounded by so much love and support while they shared their vows. There were tears, jokes, laughter, and many meaningful sentiments. After being pronounced husband and wife, bubbles were blown by the guests for their walk back down the isle. They then took the time to greet and chat with every one of their guests. Champagne was being served, and the celebration was just beginning!

Reception Details
There were so many thoughtful details that Monicah and Jamie put into their reception details. It was obvious how much each and every guest meant to them.
